Function = Share files send emails share hardware devices

WAN

Transmission Media = telecommunication links to connect computers
Bandwidth = 56Kbps to 10Mbps
Function = global communication through emails and video conferencing

Covers the size of a city or country

The Internet

Transmission Media = uses transmission media which include public tele[hones and wireless connections
Bandwidth = 10Mbps
Function = Search for information buy and sell items and download software and much more

Global network of individual computers and networks

Client Server

Client = This is a workstation computer that accesses the network resources provided by the servers
Server = A powerful computer that provides a network resource. A file server stores and manages access to application software and the network user's files
