How do you create custom margins? | Go to Page Layout, then Margins, then Custom Margins. |
What are the mathematical operators formulas use? | +, -, *, /, or Addition, Subtraction, Multiply, and Divide. |
What do parenthesis do in a formula? | What they do is they show what you want to add, subtract, multiply, or divide first. |
What does the SUM function do? | What the SUM Function does is it adds all the numbers up in a range. |
What does the MAX function do? | What the MAX Function does is takes the highest number out of the range of cells. |
What does the MIN function do? | What the MIN Function does is takes the lowest number out of the range of cells. |
What does the COUNTIF function do? | What it does is Count the number of cells within a range. |
What does conditional formatting do? | What it does is Format the cell(s) with a data bar or icon set etc.. |
How do you apply conditional formatting? | Go to Home Tab and hit Conditional Formatting. |
How do you show comments in a document? | You click Review then hit show comments. |
How do you delete comments in a document? | Go to Review and hit Delete comment. |
What tab are the layouts, right to left button, and styles in for SmartArt objects? | Page Layout. |
What tab are the remove background, artisitic effects, and corrections buttons located? | Format. |
How do you change the worksheet tab colors? | Right click the tab you want to change and hit Tab Colors. |
How do you save a file as a PDF? | Go to Save As, then hit the drop-down, and then hit PDF. |
What is Ascending Order? | Ascending Order is when you go from 1 to 10 or A to Z. |
What is Decending Order? | Decending Order is when you go from 10 to 1 or Z to A. |
How do you sort by Multiple Levels? | You do one sort then you add on to the sort with something else such as you do a Ascending Order sort and then you do alphabetical sort. |
How do you modify a Style? | In the home tab under styles you choose ur desired style. |
What is Custom View? | Custom view is your own made view. |
How do you Create a Custom View? | Go to the View tab then hit Custom View. |
What is a Defined Cell Range? | A Defined cell range is a range of cells that have a sertain name to it. |
How do you Define a Cell Range? | First you highlight the cells, then you right click then click define name, then you type in the name and hit OK. |
How do you insert a function with a Defined range? | You put an = sign and then put the function you want then put in the defined range's in Parenthesis and then hit enter. EXAMPLE : =SUM(Quarter_1) |
How do you Scale a chart? | You click on the chart then hit Format then click on Scale Chart. |
How do you Hyperlink in a Specific cell in a Different Worksheet? | Click on what you want to hyperlink and then rightclick and hit hyperlink then hit hyperlink into the cell in the workbook then type in the cell you want to hyperlink to. |
What is Filtering? | Filtering is displaying data of the criterea you want and hiding all the other data you dont want. |
How do you Filter? | you click filter then hit the dropdown and start filtering. |
What is print area? | a print area is a selected area that you highlighted that you want to print. |
What are the steps to setting a print area? | Highlight the cells you want to print, then go to the file tab and hit print then hit print selection. |
What are page breaks? | Page Breaks are when you take where you left off and make a new page. |
How do you make a manual page break? | Click on where you want to break the page then hit page layout and then hit page break. |
What does the Page Break Preview Button do and look like? | It shows what it would look like and it looks like a button that says Breaks. |
How do automatic and manual page breaks lines look different in Excel? | They are placed for cells instead of paragraphs. |
What are print titles? | specify certain rows or columns that will be repeated on the pages of a printout. |
What are the steps to set print titles? | Go to Page Layout and hit Print Titles. |
How do you insert a new worksheet? | You go to the bottom of the page and hit the tab button. |
How do you delete a worksheet? | You right click it and hit delete. |
What is a cell reference? | It helps you find a certain cell within a spreadsheet. |

How do you copy a worksheet to another WORKBOOK (that is a different file)? | You right click and hit copy then hit new worksheet and paste it onto it. |
