Rising Action -Between the conflict and climax, the action begins to build. Climax -Most intense moment in the plot -The moment at which something happens that reveals how the conflict will turn out. Falling Action -Action between the climax and resolution. Resolution -All problems in the story are solved and the story is brought to a close. Theme -A subject of discourse, discussion, meditation, or composition. Foreshadowing -To show or indicate beforehand. To predict. Symbolism -The practice of representing things by symbols, or of investing things with a symbolic meaning or character. Irony -The use of words to convey a meaning that is the opposite of its literal meaning.
