Lymph The fluid that is collected by the lymphatic vessels and nodes
Lymphocytes A type of white blood cell that helps your body fight pathogens (infectious organisms)
Lymph nodes Small lymphatic organs that filter lymph and are found along the lymphatic vessels throughout the body
Thymus The gland that produces "T" cells (which surround and destroy pathogens) that are ready to fight infection
Spleen Lymphatic organ that that produces lymphocytes
Tonsils Lymphatic tissue in the nasal cavity and at the back of the mouth that trap pathogens that enter the throat
Respiration The process by which a body gets and uses oxygen and releases carbon dioxide and water by inhaling and exhaling
Pharynx The passage from the mouth to the larynx and esophagus
Larynx The area of the throat that contains the vocal cords and produces vocal sounds
Trachea The tube that connects the larynx to the lungs
Bronchi One of the two tubes that connect the lungs with the trachea
Alveoli The tiny air sacs in the lungs where oxygen and carbon dioxide are exchanged
