That night, the Marquis kidnapped the Doctor and sent him to the Bastille prison on a lettre de cachet. Later on, Charles Darnay and his mother both try to find the sister of the dead girl and boy and try to make her life a little easier. However, this never happens, and the Marquis is killed by Gaspard, a Jacobin revolutionary
