biogenesis | living organisms arise from other living organisms |
controlled experiment | an experiment that has only one variable being changed at one time |
experimental group | the group in a controlled experiment that is having a change/variable applied |
control group | the group in a controlled experiment that has all conditions kept the same |
constants/controls | be aware these terms can be confused, it is a list of conditions that are maintained the same so that the controlled experiment is testing only one variable |
theory | well-tested group of hypothesis that are broad based and widely accepted. This is a very strong term in science. |
gene | discrete unit of information, segment of DNA that codes for the formation of a protein or protein related product. |
