Thomas Jefferson The first president elected by the House of Representatives
War of 1812 The war that was an attempt by Jeffersonian Republicans to acquire land in Canada.
Hartford Convention The convention at which a series of amendments were made to try to make it more difficult to add states, declare war, and to have consecutive presidents come from the same state.
