Law enforcement personnel may run the risk of encountering clandestine labs which have the potential of exposing officers to a
multitude of serious and potentially life threatening toxicological, chemical, and physical hazards (in addition to suspect encounters).

ability to house chemicals and paraphernalia utilized to prepare or
manufacture illegal drugs. Labs have been found in residences, garages, storage facilities, vehicles, motel rooms, and other locations.

1. The Tampa Police Department ClanLab Response Team is a team of highly trained personnel certified in the process of identifying,
dismantling and disposing of clandestine labs.
2. The D.E.A. ClanLab Response Team is a team of highly trained
personnel that can provide additional assistance and resources in a number of ways. The unit can provide undercover personnel,
assistance in case development, intelligence analysis, and information
on suspected chemicals.

a. Notify his/her immediate Narcotics supervisor.
b. Deploy a site safety team from TPCRT for initial evaluation.
c. Based on initial evaluation, deploy an adequate response team
for lab investigation, dismantling and disposal.
The Tampa Police ClanLab Response Team shall:
a. Assume control of the crime scene location.
b. Notify the DEA ClanLab coordinator and obtain a ClanLab
c. Secure representative samples of all evidence for court
d. Dismantle and dispose of clanlab hazardous materials in
accordance with the DEA ClanLab Policy.

All personnel having exposure to a confirmed clandestine lab will
