Attitudes ideals that help shape our points of view
Belief a conviction that is intellectually accepted as true whether or not it is based in fact
Value something held dear, feeling about the worth of an item, idea or behavior - formed in childhood
Morals ones attitudes, beliefs, and values, define righ or wrong behavior, deeply ingrained and not easily changed
Modeling coping an example
Moralizing sets standards for right and wrong, shoice is not allowed
Laissez-Faire unrestriced choices-no direction given
Reward/punishment rewards valued behaviors and punishes undesirable acts, children learn that strength is right
Responsible Choice a balance or freedom and restriction-one may choose among stated options

Duty to Warn duty to protct potential victims from possible harm by a psychiatric client
Reasonable and Prudent Care Provider principle by which the law judges a caregivers actions by comparing what other caregivers would do in similar situations
