Definitions

Dysarthria- difficulty speaking; refers to imperfect articulation of speech. Difficulty in forming words because of paralysis of the muscles responsible for forming speech (CN V)
Diplopia- unilateral or bilateral double vision; seeing one object as two.
Homonymous hemianopsia- impaired vision or blindness in one side of both eyes. Loss of half of the visual field.
Assessment sensory exam is largely subjective and requires the cooperation of the client.
Dysphagia- difficulty swallowing; pts who have brain attack/other CNS injury/other problems with mouth, tongue, larynx.
