Unitary System (Government) type of government that centralizes all the powers of government into one central authority
Federal System (Government) divides governmental powers between a national government and the government of the states.
Confederate Government the state and small territories are given most of the powers where as the federal government is restricted
Presidential Government a form of government in which the executive and legislative branches of the government are separate, independent, and coequal
Parliamentary Government A form of government in which the executive branch is made up of the prime minister, or premier, and that official's cabinet
Constitutional Government A system of government in which the functions of government are defined by a constitution. It effectively restrains the powers of the government and guarantees certain rights to the people.
Autocracy a political system governed by a single individual
Monarchy state ruled over by a single person, as a king or queen
Oligarchy form of government in which a few people have the power
Democracy a political system in which the supreme power lies in a body of citizens who can elect people to represent them
Republic a political system in which the supreme power lies in a body of citizens who can elect people to represent them
Dictatorship a form of government in which the ruler is an absolute dictator (not restricted by a constitution or laws or opposition etc.)
