Ethnocentrism | tendency to rate one's culture as superior as well as to fear and avoid other cultures |
Xenophobia | fear of strangers, foreigners, or groups culturally different than ones own. |
Racial prejudice | generalizations, usually negative applied to people solely based on race. |
Bigotry | obstinate insistence in the correctness of one's own group or set of beliefs. |
Racism | combination of racial prejudice with the use or abuse of power |
Institutional racism | institutions are structured so that benefits and resources are systematically distributed to one race, while excluding access to people of other races |
Oppression | the exercise of authority or power in a burdensome, cruel, or unjust manner. |
