Blood Supply Of Pericardium Pericardiacophrenic Artery-branch of internal thoracic A.
May run together with phrenic nerve.
Nerve supply of pericardium Phrenic nerves (C3-C5). Sensory innervation.
Sympathetic trunks-vasomotor.
pericarditis inflammation of pericardium. Causes pericardial friction rub, sonds like silk.
Pericardial effusion fluid passes into the pericardial cavity.
Cardiac Tamponade Heart compression. Fibrous pericardium is not elastic.
Must do pericardiocentesis to reloeve pressure.
Surfaces of heart Apex-tip of let ventricle. where mitral valve (apex)beat is loudest.
Posterior aspect-left atrium
Anterior surface-right ventrical
Diaphragmatic surface-left ventrical
left pulmonary surface-left ventricle
right pulmonary surface-right atrium
RIght auricle increases capacity of atrium
Coronary sinus Receives blood from coronary veins
sinus venarum smooth part of right atrium
Sulcus terminalis external groove separating right auricle from right atrium
Crista terminalis crest that extends internally from SVC to IVC.
Pectinate muscles stringy muscles of atrium
Right AV (tricuspid) orifice blood flows from R atrium to R ventricle
oval fossa depression that is remnant of oval foramen.
conus arteriosis smooth. leads to pulmonary trunk
trabeculae carneae thin stringy muscles on surface of ventricle.
Cordae tendinae strings attached to valves and papillary muscles.
moderator band attaches papillary muscle to interventricular septum.
carries right bundle branch
interventricular septum muscle wall between left and right ventricles
papillary muscle three in right ventricle, two in left ventricle.
mitral valve left atrioventricular valve. bicuspid.
Stenosis failure of valve to open fully
regurgitation failure of valve to close properly
coronary arteries R and L arise from sinuses of aortic valve
