Meech Lake Accord An agreement reached by Prime Minister Brian Mulroney and the ten provincial premiers in 1987.
Charlottetown Accord An agreement on constitutional change made between the provinces and the federal government in 1990.
Elijah Harper Politician (b at Red Sucker Lake, Man). Harper is most well known for the role he played in scuttling the Meech Lake Accord.
Constitution Act Passed in 1982. Part of the Constitution of Canada. It made several changes to the British North America Act, including renaming it the Constitution Act, 1867.

"distinct society" Meech Lake Accord reference to recognize Quebec as a "distinct society" having the right to take action "to preserve and promote the distinct identity of Quebec."
