ABBA Aramaic word for father that expresses affection and familiarity, roughly equivalent to "Dad" or "Daddy."
Adam The first man and our first father. Together with Eve, he committed the first sin (Original Sin).
Adoption In terms of salvation, Baptism enables us to become adopted sons and daughters of God the Father.
Angels From the Greek angelos, meaning "messenger," a spiritual, personal, and immortal creature who glorifies and serves God without ceasing.
Communion of Saints The unity in Christ of all the redeemed, those on earth and those who have died, and especially the unity of faith and charity through the Eucharist.

Divine Economy When one person of the Trinity is present and acting, they are all three present and acting.
Eve The first woman and our first mother; with Adam, she committed the Original Sin.
Evolution The scientific theory that species came to be as they are by a gradual process of change and development.
Father Title by which Jesus referred to the first Person of the Blessed Trinity.
Filiation Jesus' familial relationship, or "sonship," to God the Father.
Free Will This gift from God includes the power of directing one's own actions without constraint. It makes possible the choice to love God.
Governance God's work in keeping creation in order - a task in which he invites us to participate.
Guardian Angel An angel personally assigned by God to protect and intercede for every human being.
Hermeneutic A way or method of interpretation.
Holiness Spiritual perfection or purity arising from a likeness unto God; the free dedication of a Christian to the will of God and the participation in the life of grace.
Image and Likeness A representation such as a statue or picture; regarding God, representation in intelligence, free will, an immortal soul, and capacity to love.
Matter That part of a sacrament with which or to which something is done in order to confer grace.
Original Sin Adam and Eve's abuse of their human freedom in disobeying God's command.
Preservation God's work in sustaining creation as part of the same act of creation itself.
Protoevangelium Greek for first gospel, it speaks of God's promise to send a redeemer despite original sin.
Providence God's will by which every creature, including every human being, is led by grace and nature toward the purpose for which it was created according to God's plan.
Saint A member of the Church on earth, in Purgatory, or in Heaven.
Satan The prince of fallen angels; the tempter and accuser.
Stewardship God's entrusting of the earth's natural resources to mankind in order to care for the world, to master it by labor, and to enjoy its fruits.
Woman Name given to the first female human, Eve, because she was made "out of man."
