Somatic Mesoderm | Wall of the body cavity |
Splanchnic Mesoderm | Visceral, internal organs (innervated by the autonomic nervous system). Surrounds the gut tube. |
Paraxial Mesoderm | Longitudinal blocks on either side of the notochord that give rise to the axial skeleton and skeletal muscle. |
Intermediate Mesoderm | Gives rise to the urogenital system |
