Term	Definition
ratio	A pair of numbers that shows a comparison of two quantities and can be written as 9:4, 9/4, or t to 4.
rate	A ratio that compares two quantities with different units of measure.
unit rate	A rate in which the second number in a comparison is one unit.
proportion	A statement that two ratios are equal.
cross products	The product of the first term of the first ratio and the second term of the second ratio, and the product of the second term of he first ratio and the first tem of the second ratio.
formulas	A rule that uses symbols to relate two or more quantities.
scale drawing	A drawing made so that distances in the drawing are proportional to actual distances.
scale	The ratio of the measurements in a drawing to the actual measurements of the object.
