What should you do immediately after the AED delivers a shock? Immediately after a shock, you will wait to follow the next instruction from the AED. After a shock, it will either immediately analyze again and possibly shock again, or direct you to check the patient for a pulse, and if none resume CPR.
What is the correct position for your hand when performing chest compressions? The heel of your hand should be on the sternum, located approximately in the middle of the chest (the sternum bone). For an infant, 2 or 3 fingers on the sternum, at or slightly below the nipple line.
What is the depth in regards to chest compressions? 1 1/2 to 2 inches
Where is the position of hands for abdominal thrust in responsive choking adult? Wrap your arms around the abdomen of the patient with your hands just between the navel and the ribcage/diaphragm, at mid-center.
When do you give "Rescue Breaths" to a victim? If the patient is not breathing, after giving 30 chest compressions or straight away in a child or someone who has drowned
What can you do to reduce risk of vomiting when doing CPR? Not much to prevent vomiting but if vomiting occurs, tilt patient on side and clean away vomit from victims mouth
When should you stop performing CPR? Person has started to breathe on their own or medical assistance has arrived
How to open victims airway for CPR? Head tilt
How many Compressions and Breaths to perform CPR? 30 Compressions & 2 Breaths
