| Gene | A piece or section of the DNA that will determine 1 trait, such as attached or unattached earlobes |
| Chromosome | A strand of DNA that contains many Genes, instruction, for several traits |
| Sex cell/ Gamete | Cell that only has 1/2 of the instructions because it will meet with another sex cell to make an individual |
| Allele | Each version of the trait |
| Dominant Allele | This is the form of the trait that will be read first and will always show up if it is presant |
| Recessive Allele | This is the form of the trait that will only show up if no other version of that gene is present. It will be covered up or not used by your body if a dominant trait is present |
