Average speed the total distance traveled divided by the time it takes to travel that distance
Instantaneous speed The speed at any instant
Constant speed when an object covers equal distances in equal amounts of time
Displacement the change in position of an object
Velocity The speed of an object and a specification of it's direction of motion
Vector quantity Quantity in physics that has both magnitude and direction
Scalar quantity Quantity that can be described by magnitude without direction
Acceleration A rate at which velocity changes with time; the change in velocity may be in magnitude, or direction, or both
