Activity Spaces the daily routine of a person that take them through a regular sequence of short moves in a local area

migration transition Change in the migration pattern in a society that results from industrialization, population growth, and other social and economic changes that also produce the demographic transition.
Migration Stream A constant flow of migrants from the same origin to the same destination.
Migration Selectivity Combination of factors that predict a person's likelyhood to migration based on factors like age, gender, and education.

Net Migration The difference between the level of immigration and the level of emigration.
Step Migration migration to a distant destination that occurs in stages, for example, from farm to nearby village and later to a town and city
Time-Contract Workers recruited for work but for only a fixed period of time by contract
Urbanization the social process whereby cities grow and societies become more urban
Suburbanization The process of population movement from within towns and cities to the rural-urban fringe.
Counterurbanization Net migration from urban to rural areas in more developed countries.
Unauthorized immigrant An international migrant residing in the host country of destination who is not a citizen of the host country and has not been admitted for permanent residence
Deportation the expulsion from a country of an undesirable alien
Repatriation A refugee or group of refugees returning to their home country, usually with the assistance of government or a non-governmental organization
Genocide deliberate extermination of a racial or cultural group
