Energy
A source of power which can be transferred into various forms.
Solar Energy
Energy that comes from the sun.
Fossil fuels
Fuels formed from decayed plants and animals that existed millions of years ago.
Oil, coal, natural gas
Examples of fossil fuels, which are materials that are burned to produce heat energy that is used to run cars, heat homes,
or to produce electricity.
Alternative resources
Resources that are different from the commonly used fossil fuel resources.
Example: wind and solar energy
Reusable resources
A resource that can be reused again after its original use. Example-recycle materials
Natural resource
Useful minerals and materials that are taken from the Earth.
Renewable resource
Those that can be replaced in a short amount of time.
Example-plants, animals, trees, soil, water
Nonrenewable resource
Those resources that cannot be replaced again.
Example-oil, coal, natural gas, and minerals
