Bandwagon | tries to persuade the reader to do, think, or buy something because it is popular or everyone is doing it |
Glittering Generalities | propaganda technique that uses statements that sound good but are meaningless |
Self-appeal | CONSUMER APPEAL-makes the user FEEL better about themselves; EMOTIONAL |
Testimonial | something that recommends (or expresses commendation) of a person or thing as worthy or desirable |
Card stacking | presenting only the information that is positive to an idea or proposal and omitting information that is contrary to the idea. |
Pinpointing the Enemy | this is an attempt to simplify a complex situation by presenting one specific group or person as the enemy |
Repetition | Using the product name or a keyword or phrase over and over. |
Plain Folks | Technique used by propagandist to identify with the audience in order to gain support |
Logical Fallacies | True statements are twisted to reach a false conclusion |
Picture-perfect | Creating a photograph or drawing which presents the desired image |
