Da cheng qi tang

Severe constipation & flatulence, focal distention & abd fullness, abd pain which increases upon pressure & a tense firm abd. Severe cases may have tidal fevers, thirst, scanty urine, sweating in the palms and soles. T: dry yellow or dry black coat with prickles. P: submerged & excessive

Xiao cheng qi tang

Relativesly mild yang ming bowel disorder with tidal fever, constipation, focal distention, abd fullness abd pain that does not increase upon pressure. T: old looking, dirty & dry yellow coat. P: slippery & rapid

Tiao wei cheng qi tang

For mild constipation due to yang ming bowel disorder with the absence of abd distension and fullness but with irritability. Also for nosebleed, swollen gums & throat, and petechiae due to heat in the st & intestines

Da huang fu zi tang

Abd pain, constipation, hypochondriac pain, chills, low grade fever & cold hands & feet. T: white greasy coat. P: deep, tight & wiry

Run chang wan

Constipation, lusterless skin & nails & a dry mouth with a unquenchable thirst. T: dry. P: thin

Ma zi ren wan

Constipation with hard stools that are difficult to expel & frequent urination. T: dry yellow coat. P: deep, rapid or floating, choppy pulse

Ji chuan jian

Constipation, clear & copious urine, lower back pain and cold sensation in the back. P: tight, thin, deep (submerged). T: pale, dusky/blue/purple

Xiao chai hu tang

Alternating fever and chills, dry throat, bitter taste, irritability, fullness in chest and hypochondria, N/V, no desire to eat. T: thin, white coat. P: wiry

Hao qin qing dan tang

Mild chills alternating with pronounced fever, bitter taste, spitting up bitter or sour fluids, thirst, distention and pain in the chest and hypochondria. T: red with thick, greasy white and/or yellow coat. P: rapid, slipery on the right and wiry on the left

Chai hu jia long gu mu li tang

Fullness in chest, irritability, palitations, urinary difficulty, constipation, delirious speech, sensation of heaviness. T: red with slippery coat. P: rapid, wiry

Cold fingers and toes with warm head and body, sensation of irritability and fullness in chest and epigastrium, cough, urinary difficulty, abd pain and severe diarrhea. T: red with yellow coat. P: wiry

Xiao yao san

Hypochondriac pain, HA, vertigo, bitter taste in mouth, dry mouth and throat, fatigue, reduced appetite. T: pale/red P: wiry, deficient

Jia wei xiao yao san

liver constraint wit spleen xu that transforms into heat characterized by irritability, short temper with possible tidal fever and sweating, red eyes, dry mouth, palpitations, lower abd pressure, difficult painful urination, increased menstrual flow or uterine bleeding.

Tong xie yao fang

Recurrent problems with borborygmus, abd pain, diarrhea with pain (starts with urge to defecate and subsides after BM). T: thin, white. P: wiry, moderate or wiry, thin

Ban xia xie xin tang

Epigastric focal distention, fullness and tightness with very slight or no pain, dry heaves or vomiting, borborygmus with diarrhea, reduced appetite. T: thin, yellow and greasy coat, red at the tip. P: wiry, rapid

Qing hao bie jia tang

Night fever & morning coolness w/no sweating as fever recedes, emaciation w/ weight loss w/no loss of appetite. T: red w/ little coating. P: rapid, fine

Qing gu san

Afternoon tidal fever or unremitting, chronic low grade fever, sensation of heat in the bones but with flesh that is not warm to the touch, irritability, insomnia, emaciation, lethargy, red lips, dark red cheeks, night sweats, thirst, dry throat. T: red with little coating. P: thin, rapid

Dang gui liu huang tang

fever, night sweats, red face, dry mouth, parched lips, irritability, dry stool, dark and scanty urine. T: red, dry. P: rapid

Zeng ye cheng qi tang

Severe constipation. P: deep, thin, rapid (could be slightly forceful). T: red, thin yellow, burnt yellow coat

Jia wei xiao yao san

pt feels a light fever, hotter in the upper half of the body, facial flushing or flushing of the ear lobes. Children may present with mouth ulcersor swelling and distention of breasts and niples. Externally used for itching or ulcers due to deficiency heat
