Deltiod the shoulder origin- scapular spine; lateral boarder of acromoin

insertion- dektiod tuberosity of humerous

action- abductus arm; flexes in medial rotiation
Biceps Brachii origin-Long Head- glenoid humeral labrum; supra glenoid tuberacle

insertion- radial and bicipital tuberosity

action- flexes forarm
latissimus dorsi origin- supraspinous process; upeer sacral segments; iliac crest; lower 3 or 4 ribs

inserion- hip of the intertubercilar groove

action-adduction or humerous; medial rotoation of humerous; extention(flexed position); downward rotoation of scapula
Infrasoinatus origin- muscle fascia

Insertion- middle facet; greater tuberacle of humerous

action; external rotation of the humerous; stabilizes the gleanhumeral
Supraspinatus origin- muscle fascia

insertion- uppermost of three facets of the greater tuberacle of humerous

action- abduction fo the arm
Pectoralis major origin- 1/3 of clavicle

inserion- lateral lip of the bicipital groove; crest of greater tuberacle; clavicular fibers onsert more distally; sternaal fibers more proximally

action- humerous; medially rotates humerous; flexation of forarm; extention.
Triceps BrachiiOrigin-long head- infragleniod tuberacle of scaopula;
lateral head- uper half of the posterior surface of shaft of the humerous
medial head- posterior shaft of the humerious distal to radial groove and both medial and lateral intermuscular septum

Insertion- posterior surface of the olecranon process of th ulna

Action- long- adducts arm. ahoulder and elbor flexation
lateral-extends the forarm and elbow
medial- same as lateral
Masseter Origin-zygomatic arch(medial surface and inferior border)

Insertion-lateral surface of angle and ramus of mandible

Action-elevaters and protracts jaw; closed jaw
Gluteus Maximus Origin-surface of ilium; prosterior to prosterior gluteal line and prosterior and inferior surface of sacrum and coccyx

Insertion-gluteal tuberosity of femur; anterior of aspect of lateral tibia

Action- extends laterally; rotates thigh at hip
Gluteus Medius Origin-outer surface of ilium, between the prosterior and anterior gluteal lines

Insertion-lateral and superior surfaces of the greater trochanter of the femur.

Action- abducts the thigh at hip; anterior fibers medially rotate thigh at hip.
Gluteus Minimus Origin-surface of illium prosterior to prosterior gluteal line and prosterior and inferior surface of sacrum and coccyx

Insertion- gluteal tuberosity of femur

Action- extends laterally; extends thigh at hip
Semitendinosus Origin- ischial tuberosity

Insertion- medial aspect of tibial shaft; contributes to the pez anserine

Action- extends hip, flexes knee, medially rotates tibia
Semimbranousus Origin- ischial tuberosity

Insertion- prosterior medial aspect of medial tibial condyle

Action- flexes knee, extends hip, medially rotates hip
sartorius Origin- anterior, superior iliac spine

Insertion- upper medial surface of body of tibia

Action- flexes knee and hip; laterally rotates thigh at hip
Gracilis Origin- body of the hip and inferior pubic rambus

Insertion- medial surfaces of prximal tibia; inferior to tibial condyle; contributes to the pez anserine

Action- adducts thigh; flexes knee medially rotates tibia
Vastus madialis Origin- intertrochanteric line of femur; medial aspect of linea aspera
Insertion- common quadriceps tendon into patella
Action- extends knee
Vastus leteralis Origin- greater trochanter; lateral hip of aspera

Insertion- common quadricepstendon patella

Action- extends the knee; can abnormaly displace patella
Trapezius Origin- external occipital protuberance along the medial sides of the superioo nuchal line

Insertion- acromion ; superior spine of scapula

Action-upward rotation of the scapula
Gastronemius Origin- medial head; just above condyle of femur

Insertion- calcaneus via lateral portion of calcaneal

Action- plantar flex; the ankle; knee flexation(whn not weight bearing) stabilizes knee and ankle when standing
Soleus Origin-upper fibula

Insertion- calcaneus via medial portion of calcaneal tendon

Action- plantar flex the foot
Tibialis cranialis Origin- lateral tibial condyle; proximal 2/3 anteriolateral surface of tibia

Insertion- medial and plantar surface of base of first metatarsal

Action- strongest dorsiflexor
Flexor digitorum longus Origin-posterior surface of tibia; crural fascia

Insertion- plantar surface of bases of the 2-5th phalanges

Action- primarily flexes 2nd-th toes; weak plantar flexor; weak inversion and adduction of foot
Rhomboideus Origin-inferior border of the nuchal ligament

Insertion-small area of the medial boarder

Action- retracts the scapula when trapezius is contracted; elevated medial border of the scapula
Internal oblique Origin- iliac crest

Insertion- lower ribs
