| kyphosis | an abnormal exaggeration of the normal forward (flexion) curvature of the thoracic spine |

| pectus carinatum | flattening of the thorax on either side with forward projection of the sternum resembling the keel of a boat |
| pectus excavatum | a hollow at the lower part of the thorax caused by a backward displacement of the xiphoid cartilage |

| tactile fremitus | vibration palpated with the hand on the chest during vocal fremitus |
