Definitions

Charge The basic ingredient of electricity. Either positive (+) or negative (-) and you cannot make or destroy it. It is already all around is in the atoms from which everything is made.
Static Electricity If charge is stationary and/or concentrated then we have static electricity.
Current Electricity If charge is flowing then we have current electricity
Conductors Materials that allow charged particles to move freely through them
e.g. Metals and Carbon in the form of Graphite.
Insulators Materials which do not allow charged particles to move through them easily
e.g. Plastics, ceramics and glass
An electrical Earth Our planet can easily 'absorb' unwanted charge (or electricity) and can be a 'source' of charge if you have a means of attracting the charge off the Earth.
Electrical discharge through air When large quantities of positive charge and negative charge have been separated (causing very high voltages to develop) then a sudden discharge through the air (an electrical spark) can occur.
e.g. Lightning, Induction coils, the van de Graaf generator and spark plugs
