| hill | an upland area smaller than mountains, with gentle slopes |
| island | a body of land completely surrounded by water |
| isthmus | a narrow strip of land that connects two larger bodys of land |
| lake | a body of water completely surrounded by land |
| mountain | an area of land rising much higher than the land around it |
| mountain range | a chainn of mountains |
| mouth | the point where a river emptys into another body of water |
| oasis | a place in the desert with enough water to support vegitaion |
| pass | a gap in a mountain range |
| peninsula | a long peice of land surrounded on three sides by water |
| plain | a large area of flat or gently rolling land |
| plateau | a large area of elevated flat land |
| reef | an underwater ridge, lying near the surface of the water |
| river | any stream of fresh water flowing by gravity from an upland source into a body of water or another river |
| sea | a large body of salt water, smaller than an ocean |
| source | the begining or place of origin of a stream or river |
| strait | a narrow passage of water connecting two large bodies of water |
| tributary | a stream that flows to a larger stream or other body of water |
| valley | an elongated depression between hills, mountains, or uplands, ect. One following the course of a stream |
| volcano | a vent in the earth's crust through which lava, steam, ash, ect. are expelled |
