organism a living thing; anything that can carry out life processes independently
population a group of organisms of the same specific geographical area.
community all of the population of species that live in the same habitat and interact with each other.
ecosystem a community of organisms AND their abiotic environment
biosphere the part of the earth where life exists
biome a large region characterized by the type of climate and certain types of plant and animal communities.
biotic describes the living factors in the environment
