A logical conclusion based on observations and passed experiences.
Geologist
scientist who studies the earth.
Crust
Earths outermost layer.
Continent
Large land masses.
Mantle
The earths thickest layer underneath the crust.
Lithosphere The earths brittle crust and the upper part if the mantle make up this layer.
Asthenosphere the layer right below the lithosphere made up of solid, but putty like material.
Core
the earths center made up of the metal iron and nickle.
Outer Core
hot liquid metal; flows slowly.
Inner Core
Hot; solid material.
Conduction
transfer of heat energy through solid mater as one particle strikes another. Heat moves through the core and crust by conduction.
Convection
the transfer of heat from flowing material such as liquid or gas. heat moves through the earths mantle by convection and convection currents.
