Adding Integers The sum of an integer and its opposite is zero.
Adding Integers (same sign) The sum of 2 positive integers is positive and the sum of 2 negative integers is negative
Adding Integers (different signs) To add integers with different signs find the difference of their absolute value.
Adding Integers (different signs cont.) The sum has the sign of the integer with the greater absolute value.
Subtracting Integers To subtract an integer is to add its opposite.
Keep, Change, Change KEEP: the 1st number the same.
CHANGE: the sign to its opposite.
CHANGE: the 2nd number to its opposite.
Multiplying Integers Same sign = positive
Different signs = negative
Zero and any integer = zero
Dividing Integers Same sign = positive
Different sign = negative
By zero and any integer = undiffined
Average To find the average
