The people of Gonzales refused; the Colonel ordered his men to take the cannon by force. Gonzales sent out men to gather other armed men to help them. The Texans put the cannon on a wagon; they put a white flag called "Come and Take It" on the cannon. Mexican troops arrived in San Antonio against 160 Texans. The fight lasted a few minutes.
