Ethics The philosophical study of moral values and rules.
Observation The act of noticing or paying attention.
Inferences The reasoning involved in drawing a conclusion or making a logical judgment on the basis of circumstantial evidence and prior conclusions rather than on the basis of direct observation.
Scientific Methods A series of steps followed to solve problems, including collecting data, formulating a hypothesis, testing the hypothesis, and stating conclusions.
Hypothesis A tentative theory about the natural world.
Serendipidtiy The occurrence of accidental of unexpected but fortunate results.
Experiment The act of conducting a controlled test or investigation.
Control Group In an experiment, the group that is not exposed to the treatment; contrasts with the experimental group and serves as a comparison for evaluating the effect of the treatment.
Experimental Group A subject or group of subjects in an experiment that is exposed to the factor or condition being tested.
Independent Variable A variable whose values are independent of changes in the values of other variables.
Dependent Variable A variable in a logical or mathematical expression whose value depends in the independent variable.
Constant Persistent in occurrence and unvarying in nature.
Data A collection of facts from which conclusions may be drawn.
Safety Symbol A logo designed to alert you of a specific danger.
