Force A push or pull on an object.
Opposite Different
Momentum The force or speed with which something moves.
Speed A rate at which something happens.
Rate Any change over time.
Acceleration The rate at which velocity changes
Velocity Speed in a given direction.
Friction A force that opposes the motion of objects that touch as they move past each other.

Mass The amount of matter in an object.
N.A.S.A. The National Aeronautics and Space Administration
(United States Space Program)
graph Visual display of information or data.
Inertia The tendency of an object to resist any change in its motion.
Remain Stay the same.
Balanced Force Two or more forces that are equal and opposite of one another, but do not cause change in motion.
Unbalanced Force Two or more forces that are not equal and opposite of one another, and they can cause change in motion.
Direction A line leading to a place or point.
Newton's 1st Law (Law of Inertia) an object in motion tends to stay in motion & an object at rest stays at rest unless acted upon by an outside force.
Newton's 2nd Law Force = Mass x Acceleration
Newton's 3rd Law For every action there is an equal and opposite reaction.
Issac Newton Defined the laws of motion and gravity by explaining the motion of the universe.
Terminology Special vocabulary of a subject.
Aerodynamics The study of forces and the resulting motion of objects through the air.
Identify To be able to name and/or label something as being a particular thing.
Define To give the meaning of a word.
Interpret To explain the meaning of something.
Describe To tell what something is like by giving details.

Advantages Makes work easier.
Simple Machine A machine that does work with only one movement.
Pressure The amount of force pushing on an area.
Work Transfer of energy that occurs when a force makes an object move; measured in joules
Fluid A substance that can flow easily.
Satellite Man-made equipment that orbits around the earth or the moon.
