O--Body and Transverse process of T12-L5
I--Lesser Trochanter; tendon fused with that of ilacus
A--Flexes Thigh
With insertion Fixed: flexes lumbar spine

Psoas Minor

O--T12-L1 verterbral bodies and intervertebral disks
I--Ilium inner surface (iliopectineal eminence and line)
A--Weak flexion of trunk and lumbar spine

Iliacus

O--Iliac fossa; ala of sacrum and adjacent ligaments
I--Lesser trochanter of femur; tendon fused with that of psoas
A--flexes thigh at the hip joint
With insertion fixed: flexes lumbar spine

* Sartorius

O--Anterior superior iliac spine
I--Medial surface of tibia, near tibial tuberosity
A--Flexes and assists in medial rotation of leg; flexes and laterally rotates thigh

* Tensor Fascia Latae

O--Lateral aspect of iliac crest between anterior superior iliac spine and tubercle of teh crest
I--Iliotibial tract of fascia lata
A--Stablizes the knee in extension; other actions on the hip: flexion; abduction; and medial rotation

* Adductor Magnus

O--Inferior ramus of pubis; ischial tuberosity
I--Linea aspera of femur; adductor tubercle
A--Adducts, medially rotates thigh at the hip joint

* Adductor Brevis

O--Inferior ramus of pubis
I--Linea aspera of femur
A--Adducts; flexes; and medially rotates thigh

* Adductor Longus

O--External surface of body of pubis
I--Linea aspera of femur
A--Adducts; flexes; and medially rotates thigh

* Gracilis

O--Inferior ramus of pubis and ischium
I--Proximal, medial surface of the tibia
A--Adducts thigh at hip joint; flexes the leg at knee joint; assists in medial rotation for thigh when legs flexed

* Rectus Femoris (#1 of 4 Quadriceps Femoris)

O--Anterior inferior iliac spine; superior acetabular rim
I--First into patella as the quadriceps femoris tendon then via patellar ligament to tibial tuberosity
A--Extends leg at the knee joint; flexes thigh at the hip joint

* Vastus Lateralis (#2 of 4 Quadriceps Femoris)

O--Lateral part of intertrochanteric line, margin of greater trochanter, lateral margin of gluteal tuberosity, lateral lip of the linea aspera
I--First into patella as the quadriceps tendon then via patellar ligament to tibial tuberosity
A--Extends leg at the knee joint

* Vastus Intermedius (#3 of 4 of Quadriceps Femoris)

O--Anterlateral surface of femur along linea aspera (upper two thirds)
I--First into patella as the quadriceps femoris tendon then via patellar ligament to tibial tuberosity
A--Extends leg at the knee joint

* Vastus Medialis (#4 of 4 Quadriceps Femoris)

O--Intertrochanteric line and entire length of linea aspera
I--First into patella as the quadriceps tendon then via patellar ligament to tibial tuberosity
A--extends leg at the knee joint

* Quadriceps

Rectus Femoris
Vastus Lateralis
Vastus Medialis
Vastus Intermedius

* Tibialis Anterior

O--Lateral surface of tibia and adjacent intersosseus membrane
I--Base of first metatarsal, medial and inferior surface of medial cuneiforms
A--Dorsiflexes foot at ankle joint, assists in inversion of foot

* Fibularis Longus (Peroneus)

O--Upper lateral surface of fibula, head of fibular, lateral condyle of tibia
I--Base of first metatarsal and medial cuneiform bone
A--Everts foot; plantar flexion at ankle; supports longitudinal arch of foot

* Extensor Digitorum Longus

O--Lateral condyle of tibia; proximal half of medial surface of fibula
I--Distal and middle phalanges of toes 2 to 5
A--Extends toes 2 to 5; assists in dorsiflexion of foot at the ankle joint and eversion of foot

Extensor Hallucis Longus

O--Middle half of medial surface of fibula and adjacent interosseus membrane
I--Superior surface of distal phalanx of great (1st) toes
A--Extends great toe; assists in inversion of foot and dorsi flexion at ankle joint

Fibularis (Peroneus) Tertius

O--distal 1/3 of anterior surface of fibula; often fused with distal portion of extensor digitorum longus; interosseous margin
I--Dorsal surface of base of 5th metatarsal
A--Dorsiflexes and everts foot at ankle
