Virtue The quality of doing what is right and avoiding what is wrong. Faith A gift from God that helps us to believe and trust in him. Church The community of people who believe in Jesus Christ, have been baptized in him, and follow his teachings. Tradition The revelation of the good news of Jesus Christ as lived out in the Church, past and present. Passed down from generation to generation. Theological Virtues Faith, Hope, and Love. Doctrines Principles; teachings; beliefs. Confirmation The sacrament of initiation that seals us with the Holy Spirit. Scripture The written word of God. Angel God's Holy messenger. Marks of the Church Four essential signs or characteristics of Christ's Church that mark it as his true Church. The Church is one, holy, catholic, and apostolic. Free Will The human gift to make decisions without being forced to choose or act in one specific way. Holiness The state of becoming more God-like, living in his presence, or with his love. Feasts Special days of the Church year that are put aside to honor the saints. Lamb of God The title given to Jesus as the perfect sacrifice who takes away the sins of the world. Pentecost Celebrates the descent of the Holy Spirit upon Mary and the Apostles fifty days after the Resurrection. Transfiguration The event in which Jesus reveals his divine glory to his Apostles. Grace The free and undeserved gift God gives us so we can become his adopted children. Offices of Christ The three roles of Jesus (priest, prophet, and king) that describe his mission and work among God's people; all those baptized share in these three roles. Salvation To be saved from sin and allowed to enter heaven. Eklessia Church. Domestic Church The place where the Faith is first proclaimed to children, home. Third Commandment Remember to keep holy the Lord's day.
