KINETIC ENERGY the energy an object has due to its motion
ELECTRIC ENERGY the movement of electrons from one place to another; current electricity
CONVECTION the transfer of heat through a fluid (liquid or gas) caused by molecular motion
FORCE a push or pull exerted on an object
circuits a closed path through which electrons (a current) can flow; electrons will continue to flow unless the circuit is broken
MASS the amount of matter in an object
LAW OF CONSERVATION OF ENERGY the law that states that energy cannot be created or destroyed but can be changed from one form to another
HEAT a form of energy that is transferred by a difference in temperature
MOLECULES groups of two or more atoms held together by chemical bonds
ELECTRONS negatively charged particles
TEMPERATURE A measure of the average energy of motion of the particles of a substance
PARALLEL CIRCUITS electric circuits with two or more paths through which charge can flow
