| Refraction | the bending of light |
| Precipitation | liquid or frozen water that falls to the ground |
| Rain | tiny water droplets stuck together eventually growing large enough to fall |
| Snow | deposition of water vapor |
| Sleet | rain that freezes before hitting the ground |
| Freezing Rain | rain that freezes after hitting the ground |
| Hail | forms in thunderstorms and has layers of ice from freezing and refreezing |
