Terms	Definitions
Resistor	an electrical device that resists the flow of electrical current
Series Circuit	a circuit in which the objects are connected in a single path
Parallel Circuit	An electric circuit with multiple paths
Capacitor	an electrical device characterized by its capacity to store an electric charge
Ohm	a unit of electrical resistance equal to the resistance between two points on a conductor when a potential difference of one volt between them produces a current of one ampere
Series-Parallel Circuit	A circuit having both series and parallel connected components.
Electrical Meter	A device that measures the amount of electric energy consumed by a residence, business, or an electrically powered device.
Analog Meter	Meter with a mechanical pointer and a scale to measure quantities.
Digital Meter	Gives a digital read out of information.
Ammeter	a meter that measures the flow of electrical current in amperes.
Voltmeter	a device used to measure voltage, or electrical potential energy difference.
Nonmetallic Sheathead	Assembly of two or more rubber-covered conductors in an outer sheath of nonconducting fibrous material that has been treated to make it flame-resistant and moisture-repellent.
Air Pollution Detector	A device used to measure the pollution of air.
