Process A bony prominence
Eminence A bony projection (not as prominent as a process)
Spine Generally a thinner, sharper process than eminence
Tuberosity A large, usually roughened eminence of variable shape often at the site of a tendon or ligament attachment
Tubercle A small, usually roughened eminence, often at the site of a tendon or ligament attachment
Trochanter One of the two large prominent, blunt, process found only on the femur
Malleolus (pl. Malleoli) a rounded protuberance adjacet to the ankle joint
Boss A smooth, round, broad eminence.
Torus A bony thickening (supraorbital torus)
Ridge a linear bony elevation, often roughned
Articulation an area where adjacent bones are in contact
Condyle A round articular process
Epicondyle A nonarticular projection adjacent to a condyle.
Head A large, rounded, usually articular end of a bone.
Crest a prominent, usually sharp thin ridge of bone (often formed between adjacent muscle masses, i.e.Sagittal crest)
Line A raised liner surface, not as thick as a torus or as sharp a a crest
Hamulus a hook-shaped projection
