His army was victorious. When the colonies were delaring independence he was choosen to be the head chief of the army.
presidentwhen the war was over the colonies wanted to have a leader and they thought who better to be than george washington. He did not want to be president but he took the request and became the first president.after serving 8 years ib the office he spent the rest of his life at the farm he grew up on mt. Vernen.
