Haiku | A three line verse form |
Stanza | A formal division of lines in a poem, considered as a unit |
Ballad | A songlike poem that tells a story, often one dealing with adventure and romance |
Dramatic Poem | Poem that uses the techniques of drama, usually has dialogue to tell the story, as if characters were witnesses to the action |
Lyric Poem | A musical verse that expresses the observations and feelings of a single speaker |
Narrative Poem | A poem that tells a story |
Blank Verse | Poetry written in unrhymed iambic pentameter |
Free Verse | Poetry not written in a regular, rhythmical pattern or meter |
