What are the four ways that animals adapt to their environment?

An ADAPTATION is a body part or behavior that helps an animal meet its needs in its environment.

How does camouflage help an animal survive?

CAMOUFLAGE helps an animal survive because its color or pattern will help blend with the surroundings. This helps animals hide from danger.

What is mimicry?

MIMICRY is an adaptation in which an animal looks very much like another animal or an object.

Be prepared to match the correct bird with the correct adapted body part.

ANIMAL .......ADAPTED BODY PART
owl .............. large eyes
hawk ............large claws
ostrich ..........long legs and two-toed feet
penguin ........wings like flippers
