Terms	Definitions
Polygon	A closed plane figure whose sides are straight line segments that are connected endpoint to endpoint.
Vertex	The point where two rays meet in an angle.
Isosceles Triangle	A triangle with at least two congruent sides.
Scalene Triangle	A triangle with no congruent sides.
Right Angle	A triangle that has one right angle.
Acute Angle	An angle that is less than 90% angle.
Obtuse Angle	An angle that is greater than 90% angle.
Parallelogram	A shape with 2 pairs of opposite sides that are parallel and 2 pairs of opposite sides that are congruent.
Trapezoid	A shape with exactly one pair of parallel sides.
Rectangle	A shape with 2 pairs of congruent sides and 4 right angles.
Rhombus	A shape with 4 congruent sides and 2 pairs of congruent angles.
Square	A shape with 4 congruent sides and 4 right angles.
Quadrilateral	A polygon with 4 sides and 4 angles.
Diagonal	A diagonal of a polygon is a line segment that connects two of the vertices of the polygon. It is not a side of the figure.
Congruent Figures	Figures that have the same shape and size.
Equilateral Triangle	A triangle with all sides congruent.
