What does intake include?

All liquids taken by mouth, IV fluids, feedings through G tubes, liquid meds

What does output include?

Urine, diarrhea, vomit, gastric secretion, and drainage

What is a urometer?

Hard plastic container attached in front of catheter bag

What is the number one sign of fluid volume defecit?

Rapid weight loss

What is tenting?

Pinch and pull up skin, should go straight down, if not then dehydrated

What is pitting edema?

Pushing in on skin and indention stays
