Proclamation Line of 1763. Why did England make the law?? To prevent colonists from moving west of the Appalachians.
After the French and Indian War, why did England decide to tax the colonists?? England needed to collect the money it lost due to the war.
No taxation without representation. What does it mean? It means that England could not tax the colonists without them having a representative in Parliament.
What is a protest?? A protest is not going with someone's wishes. ex. a petition
What is a boycott? A special kind of protest in which you stop doing something.
What was the Quartering Act? The Quartering Act was an order by Parliament that required colonists to house and supply British soldiers. It was started to give soldiers a place to stay.
Stamp Act A law passed in 1765 that required all legal and commercial documents to carry an official stamp showing a tax has been paid.
Sugar Act A law passed by Parliament in 1764 that placed a tax on sugar, molasses, and other products shipped to the colonies; called for harsh punishment of smugglers.
Who were the Sons/Daughters of Liberty? They were people who led the Patriots.
What was the last battle of the war? The battle of Yorktown.
