Description

Mnemonic Devices: =)

acclimate - "a climate" (duh) and to get "accustom"ed to a new environment or situation. (yeah, that second part is almost useless ._.)

chagrin - "Chhh... you want me to grin? I'm frustrated!" ("Chh" sounding something like "Pshh" or "Pchh" as in "Pshh, yeah right.")

explicate - "expl-icate" "expl-ain" ("explain" is similar; first four letters are the same)

fracas - "What's with all the ruckus?" and "What's with all the fracas?" (Incorrectly pronouncing "fracas" to almost rhyme with "ruckus") (Do not get mixed up with raucous!)

raucous - "raw cuss" ...sounds harsh to me. Certainly not orderly.

receptive - "receive" (do I really need to put this one?)

repress - "re-press" (pressing something back or down

somnolent - "insomnia" is a sleeping disorder, if for some odd reason you did not know.

vehement - "vehicle" (cars are powerful and forceful) ._. Not sure how much this is gonna help.
