Speed the distance an object travels in a unit of time
Average Speed found by dividing the total distance traveled by the total time taken
Instantaneous Speed the speed of an object at one instant of time
Velocity the speed of an object and the direction of its motion
Acceleration the change in velocity divided by the time it takes for the change to occur
Mass the amount of matter in an object
Inertia the tendency of an object to resist a change in its motion
Momentum the measure of how hard it is to stop an object
Law of conservation of momentum the total momentum of a group of objects remains constant unless an outside forces act on the group
