Kinetic Friction

The force that opposes the movement of two surfaces that are in contact and are sliding over each other.

Speed

the distance an object travels per unit of time

Velocity

speed in a given direction. Also known as displacement divided by time.

Force

The cause for accleration (the cause for a change in velocity).

Static Friction

the force that resists the initiation of movement between two surfaces that are in contact and at rest.

Friction

the force that opposes the motion.

Motion

the act of changing location from one place to another in comparison to a reference point/frame.

Acceleration

The rate at which velocity changes.
