The Proclamation of 1763 said that colonist could not settle west of the Appalachian Mountains. It gave the Indians rights to their land. Britain made the Proclamation of 1763 to avoid fighting with the Indians.

The militia decided to build a fort on Breed's Hill. The next morning the British attacked. British soldiers attacked three times and were successful on the third try because the militia ran out of ammunition. Britain captured the fort, but lose more than half their soldiers.
Lexington: These were the first battles of the Revolutionary War. British soldiers arrived on April 19th. They told the Minutemen to leave, but someone fired a shot. Both sides fired many shots and eight colonists died.
British soldiers were searching for hidden weapons in Concord. The Minutemen forced the British to go back to Boston.
